What better a project than to be asked to design a complete interior - literally from an empty concrete shell - from bottom up including colour thematics, floors, walls, floorplan, furniture, lighting, artwork, exteriors and an overall branding exercise with new logo, font, and signage. We were honoured to be asked by the owners of La Traviata to undertake this task, and they showed great resolve and faith in our newly established studio, to allow us free rein (with some caveats!) to create such a stunning new restaurant. Below you will see a storyboard of images illustrating the design process, and finally a few images of the completed restaurant. We'd like to say thank you to Robert and Mieke, the owners of La Traviata, for the fantastic opportunity for us at Studio Red Dog House.
Brief: Modernising the concept of the existing brand of La Traviata, yet bringing a fresh, contemporary feel, whilst retaining the dominant theme of the establishment (La Traviata: the opera). First contact...

...and this is before the whole lot is ripped out!

Early sketch from pre-proposal ideas

Basic early floorplan

Our mock-ups are warm and try to give ambience rather than AutoCad fine lines

Unusual collage also adds something different to our process

Lighting trial with different colour options for furniture

Colour swatch trial - we liaise with the client at all stages and brainstorming is part of the design process - in fact its key

Toldo/Awning - every detail is thought of

Sketch for final lighting on left side

Lighting render (its nice to show mood - we call this the couples tables)

Again - its not all computers and tech!

More lighting sketches, this time mirror walls

These hand blown glass lights were manufactured locally.

The La Traviata rose is a feature wall covering by us and unique to the restaurant.

Artwork by us Traviata Act I

We supply all wall art and prints. They are our own work. Traviata Act II

Act III was inspired by artwork from the original restaurant

A fresh new logo and modern crisp font. Everything was updated.

The one thing we were asked to include was the wine fridge. we were not going to complain!
