Our first collection launched this Spring 2022 was influenced by the beautiful array of wild flowers that carpet the stunning landscape of Andalucia. Not only so intricate and beautiful in their own rights, we also wished to promote the importance of these stunning flora, especially with regard to the ecology of the area, and the need to revere these wild spaces and understand their role in maintaining the natural world. Its all about the bees!
Avena Sativa is the dominant piece in this collection, and is a fine indicator of the style and aesthetic that drives the studio. Japanese influences are married with antique stylings to suggest historical botanical illustration but at the same time it is strikingly contemporary. In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection, and the distressed technique utilised here is a nod to this aesthetic.
The Saxifraga set is a perfect example of how digital illustration techniques allow for any number of changes that may allow a piece to be individually tailored to any space, based on color correction, light/dark contrast, ambience and general mood. The initial consultation with the client includes use of cutting edge design technology. Of course, photography is key to capturing the space, but we also use software that captures colour themes, harmonics and textures. This helps us to tailor a piece to the exact requirements of the space, that matches key elements already in place. In the case of new projects this technology allows us to colour coordinate the space(s) so that a seamless harmony or mood can be created (its branding with fine art!)
The final works are indicative of the bespoke values that we cherish here at the studio. Again, it should be clear that variants of all the works here are options for ay project. Euphorbia (left), for example, is a reworking of a large wall art piece we did using its original colouring (see In Situ below). Digital techniques allow a flexibility that gives each piece, even if bought by a number of clients, a unique fingerprint depending on the placement.
Arroyo is another example of how our working process is unique to our environment, our coast and mountains in this case, and our obligation to use imagery that is created solely for our own use. We do not use stock libraries, and each of our original photographs or drawings are made by us for you alone. You won't find these images anywhere else - this is what we love about living and working in this part of the world.

The following images are examples of the above artworks being placed into certain environments. We have used specialist software to create these images, and they should not be considered as work we have completed for clients.
If you check the menu you will see a tab Case Study (Ejemplo práctico) This is a page where we have tried to show through sketches, photographs and text an example of our work process which resulted in a beautiful transformation of a well-known local restaurant, and of which we are very proud.
